Welcome to the home of Richard Holder's Model Railways.
My first serious attempt at railway modelling was the creation of a 'OO' loft layout in the 1970's and later another 'OO' layout which featured a narrow gauge branch line. This was built in a garage when my wife and I and our family lived in Warwickshire.
It was not until I retired in 2003 that I really developed my modelling skills and focussed on narrow gauge railways. Joining The 009 Society introduced me to many new friends, several of whom still regularly help operate my layouts at exhibitions.
This was soon followed by an extension called 'Borth-y-Mawddach' which appeared in the March 2009 issue.
A third extension, 'Porthdanwyg' featured in July 2009.
My latest project is a model of Launceston Steam Railway. This was first exhibited at NGSW at Shepton Mallet on 18 Feb 2017.
